Not An Employee - And Loving It!

Today I met with another company that wanted to acquire mine. For those of you who would jump to the end to find out if I sold or not... don't worry, I'm not interested in selling. The visit was intriguing and it brought back a lot of memories of being an employee.  I was first given a tour around the building to see the different departments and it had sure grown a lot since I checked out the company two and a half years ago. They are now quite large, and I was reminded of exactly what I don't want my company to become.

What a blessing it is have the freedom to run my company from home. I don't have to deal with any politics or drama, and I can focus on fulfilling my purpose, not someone else's. When I left their building, I actually felt like clicking my heels. Not because there is anything bad about their company... in fact, I'm quite impressed with what they have done.  But it was a good reminder of the huge opportunity that is right before me, and I'm excited to take my company to new places.

Finally Acheiving 6 Figures of Residual Income

Well, it's about time.  I'm finally able to officially announce six figure residual income status from an online business. As of today, residual income to my online business is $8,362/mo. It's been a lot of hard work and very long hours over the last two years, buy hey, I'm here now.  This isn't about me looking all cool and impressive, but to show you that if I can do it, then surely you can.  I guess one attribute that I'm thankful I have, is that when I want something, I keep going after it, no matter how many times I fail or how stressful it is along the way, or even how dweeby people think I am.  Being a Human Biology major means that I didn't know the first thing about entrepreneurship, nor the internet.  All I knew is that I was hungry for it.  Those of you who know me, have had some good laughs about some of the business ideas I've tried.  Well, eventually, with enough trial and error, we start to figure things out.  This last several months has been great as I have now been transitioning my business to help other small businesses have success as well.  I'm here to help.

Writing a Compelling Title

Having compelling title on your ad or article can make all the difference in how successful it is.  In this video I cover may exampes of titles that get people's attention, and move them to take action.  Whenever you write a title, the key is to catch the attention of the right people, and get them to view your ad.  I have broken several types of titles into different categories, and it will be helpful if you pause on each category and think of ways you could use this menthod in your own writing.  I hope you find it helpful.  Let me know your feeback or quesitons.

Having Control of your Schedule

Today I wanted to share a few thoughts about the importance and the blessing of being able to control your schedule. Anyone who goes into business counts this as one of the main reasons for doing so, however, it's a luxury that is not very common among business owners, and in fact, they usually end up being trapped in multiples jobs they created for themselves, with less freedom than they had before. A great topic for another time is how to work on your business, not in your business, but for now, I simply want to express my gratitude that I have control of my time.

Don't get me wrong, I work long hours, but I'm in the fortunate position that I can work as much or as little as I want each day.  Today I took the opportunity to enjoy what may be the last summer like day of the season.  I can't complain because it's almost halloween, but the weather report indicates that tomorrow the weather will be a lot colder and stormy. Knowing that, and seeing how beautiful it was, I decided to go mountain biking.  It's nice to be able to do something like that at the spur of the moment.  I have to say, it was amazing. The temperature was perfect, and the colors were beautiful.  Here is a picture I took with my iPhone.

I go biking on these trails quite often, but today I had to stop and take a few pictures to try and capture the beauty, none of which would I have enjoyed if I was not able to get a way from my work for a moment.  I'm thankful for the blessing it is to have a successful business, and that I live so close to many amazing biking trails.
